Outcrop is a small creative business owned and run by Aran and Maeve Pudney. We are based at Branley's Yard, Rathcormac, Co. Sligo. If you are in the area pop in and say hello, we'd love to meet you!
A little bit about us...
At the end of August 2020 we moved back to Maeve's home town from Wellington, New Zealand with our young family. It was a strange time to make the move, but the wheels were already in motion and after many years overseas it was nice to be close to Maeve's side of the family during these extraordinary times. Along with our family we also brought our creative business with us. In New Zealand we made our art maps under the name The Furnace (www.thefurnace.co.nz) and they continue to be made by another local company, Matai Gallery, for New Zealand and Australia. With such a big move, it was time for a new setup and a new name and that was the start of Outcrop, mostly inspired by the view of Benbulben from our window.
Setting up a business during Covid and Brexit has been fairly challenging, but in the process we have been able to make a few changes to how we do things. We can now create accurate maps of anywhere in the world which is quite exciting and gives us lots of new possibilities to explore.
Our studio workshop in Branley's Yard opened at the start of June, and its been lovely to hear all the positive comments from everyone coming through to have a look.
