Lambay Island · Reachrainn · Co. Dublin, Ireland

A meaningful handmade gift for anyone captivated by this mysterious and beautiful private island off the north Dublin coast.

Discover the extraordinary beauty of Lambay Island with this beautifully handcrafted 3D wooden map. Sitting just five kilometres off the north Dublin coast between the villages of Rush and Portrane, Lambay is Ireland's largest offshore island and one of its most fascinating — a private island that has been in the hands of the Baring family since 1904 and is largely closed to the public, which gives it an air of mystery and romance that few Irish islands can match. Lambay Castle, visible on the map nestled into the island's western shore, was redesigned by Edwin Lutyens in the early 20th century and remains one of the most remarkable private residences in Ireland. The island's cliffs and waters are home to one of the most important seabird colonies on the Irish Sea coast, its grey seal population is among the largest in Ireland, and the surrounding waters — beautifully captured in the deep layered channels of this map — are among the most biodiverse on the east coast.

This handcrafted 3D wooden map captures Lambay Island, Lambay Castle, the surrounding Irish Sea and the north Dublin coastline including Rush and Portrane in layered detail — made by hand in our Sligo studio from sustainable materials.

Perfect for:

  • Wildlife lovers and birdwatchers drawn to Lambay's extraordinary seabird colonies and grey seal population
  • Sailors and divers who know the waters around Lambay and the rich marine life of the Irish Sea
  • History and architecture lovers fascinated by Lambay Castle and the remarkable Lutyens connection
  • Anyone captivated by Lambay Island, whether through a sailing trip past its cliffs, a love of Irish islands, or simply a fascination with this mysterious and beautiful place

Make it personal: Add a brass pin to mark a special connection — a sailing memory, a view from the Rush or Portrane shore, or a place of personal significance — with a short engraved message on the back.
